Together In Movement and Exercise (TIME)
To counteract the cycle of decline in mobility, ongoing access to physical activity and health promotion is essential. This unique partnership between Interior Heath and the City of Revelstoke as been established to pool resources and provide an exercise program implemented by our Community Centre staff but designed by health care professionals for people with balance and mobility challengers.
TIME classes are designed for:
Adults with conditions such as:
- Acquired brain injury
- Multiple sclerosis
- Other mobility concerns
We welcome care workers and significant others to attend as volunteers to assist you through the program!
What does the program include?
- One-hour circuit-based exercise classes, led by fitness trainers
- Practical techniques for you to practice on your own at home
- Opportunities to meet with other class participants with similar conditions and support each other
NEW! Register for 1 or 2 classes per week
Date/Time: Monday & Wednesday from 9:30am - 10:30am
Cost: Once a week (either Monday or Wednesday) $25 per person for 8 classes
Twice a week (both Monday and Wednesday) $50 per person for 16 classes
Session 1: Mondays, September 24 - November 19 (no class October 8)
Session 1: Wednesdays, September 26 - November 14
Session 2: Mondays, November 26 - January 21 (no class Jan 1)
Session 2: Wednesdays, November 21 - January 16 (no class Dec 26)
Session 3: Mondays, January 28 - April 1 (no class Feb 18)
Session 3: Wednesdays, January 23 - March 13
To participate in this program, you will be required to fill out a Par-Q questionnaire or you could be referred by a doctor, physical therapist or health care professional. Forms are available at the front desk of the Community Centre. One of our trained instructors will contact you for screening prior to the beginning of class to review any questions you may have.
