The City of Revelstoke’s Official Community Plan (OCP) was last updated in 2009.
OCPs typically plan for 20-years, however, a lot can change and evolve over time and Revelstoke is a prime example of that. Since 2009, the population has grown and shifted, development interests are increasing, and affordability is becoming more challenging.
City Council asked staff to launch an OCP Vision Check-In with you, the community of Revelstoke.
The NEW OCP Vision has been supported by Council! On July 14, 2020, Council was presented with the OCP VIsion Chak-In Focus Group report and recommendations to refresh the existing vision and community priorities:
Revelstoke will pursue a sustainable mountain community by balancing environmental, social economic and cultural values within a local, regional and global context. Our rich heritage and stunning natural environment inspire us to be forward thinking, inclusive, resilient and welcoming. We will create a supportive, vibrant community for those that live, work and visit here today and in the future.

To test the current OCP vision within the Revelstoke Community several visioning engagement events occurred between October 9th and December 8, 2019, such as:
A summary of findings from the OCP Vision Check-in engagement events have been compiled and reported to Council. The report outlines the Engagement Outcomes, What was Learned and an Analysis. Read the summary HERE
At Committee of the Whole on February 13th, 2020, Council supported staff’s recommendation to amend the vision to better reflect the outcomes of the community vision check-in survey.
On July 14, 2020 City of Revelstoke Council endorsed a refreshed vision and priorities to guide the development of the OCP:
